Q. What areas do you cover for lawn care and grass cutting?
A. Harewood Lawn Care is based between Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket, providing professional lawn care, lawn treatments, grass cutting, lawn renovation and ride-on mowing throughout West Suffolk and the bordering areas of Cambridgeshire.
We regularly work in Newmarket, Bury St Edmunds and the surrounding villages. For larger projects, including large lawn mowing, lawn renovations and ride-on mowing, we're happy to travel further where required.

Q. Can you provide a quote over the phone?
A. Wherever possible, we prefer to visit your property so we can inspect the lawn properly and provide an accurate quotation.
If that's not convenient, you're welcome to send us photographs or a video via WhatsApp. We can usually provide a good estimate, although this may change slightly if we discover anything unexpected when we visit.
Q. Do I need to be at home when you visit?
A. No. As long as we have clear access to your garden and all lawn areas, you don't need to be at home while we carry out the quotation or the work. Many of our customers are at work during the day, and we'll simply email your invoice once the job has been completed.
Q. Do I have to sign a contract?
A. No. We don't tie our customers into contracts. You simply pay for the work completed, and you're free to stop or restart your lawn care service whenever you wish. For customers who prefer spreading the cost, we also offer convenient monthly payments by Direct Debit through GoCardless.
Q. How do I pay?
A. Once your work has been completed, we'll email you a PDF invoice together with a secure online payment link, making payment quick and straightforward.
If you're one of our regular lawn care customers, you can also choose to pay by monthly Direct Debit through GoCardless, helping to spread the cost evenly throughout the year.
Q. When is the best time to renovate a lawn?
A. Early autumn is generally the best time for lawn renovation, as the soil is still warm, moisture levels are usually higher and grass seed germinates quickly. Spring can also be a good time, depending on weather conditions.
Our lawn renovation service includes scarification, overseeding, premium top dressing, fertiliser, germination fleece and full aftercare advice to give your new lawn the best possible start.
Q. How often should my lawn be mowed?
A. During the growing season, we generally recommend mowing every two weeks to keep your lawn healthy, neat and looking its best. Faster-growing lawns may benefit from weekly mowing during peak spring growth, while mowing frequency can often be reduced during hot, dry weather.
Q. Do you offer lawn treatments without regular mowing?
A. Yes. Many of our customers use us purely for seasonal lawn treatments, weed control, moss control and lawn renovations while carrying out their own mowing.
Likewise, some customers simply require regular grass cutting without lawn treatments. Our services can be tailored to suit your requirements.
Q. Do you remove grass cuttings and garden waste?
A. Yes. Grass clippings can either be left on the lawn where appropriate or removed and taken away. We also offer green waste removal for scarification work, lawn renovations and garden clearances. Any waste removal charges will always be discussed with you before work begins.
